I'll be leaving for Florida in a week and I have so much left to do to get ready. But first, I needed to update my WaterTribe necklace, adding the teeth I got last year. The whales tail is the newest trophy for UFC finishers, the alligator tooth was for the segment with the 40 mile portage.
All finishers of the Everglades Challenge receive the coveted shark tooth necklace, and a miniature wooden paddle.
Those opting for the Everglades Wilderness Waterway also get the even more coveted Alligator tooth necklace. Ask any WaterTriber why they do these races and they'll all tell you "it's for the tooth of course".

Dawn, could I interest you folks in a post-race get-together somewhere in Florida? I suggested the same to Kristen as well, a kind of bloggers summit. Might be fun!
I agree that would be great fun, just not sure how to swing it. We'll get to Fl late Thur, camping at Ft DeSoto Thur and Fri for race prep. Race starts Sat, ends in Key Largo the next Sat. We both are back to work that next Mon. What is your itinerary?
